For veterinary hospitals in Suffolk County
Add Aquamation to Your Pet Aftercare Options
Keep your existing cremation provider. Add aquamation as another choice. We invite veterinary hospitals to discuss private aquamation for families who specifically want a water-based alternative.
We specialize exclusively in pet aquamation. We do not provide traditional flame cremation.
An additional option for your clients.
Your hospital may already have an established traditional cremation agreement. We are not asking you to replace that relationship. An aquamation arrangement can give a family another aftercare option when they ask for a process without flame.
Contact us before referring a first case so we can agree on pickup, authorization, identification, and communication. Arrangements are confirmed with your practice; this page is not a claim that your hospital is already a partner.
Veterinary pickup.
Call 516-965-5426 with the hospital location, the pet’s species and approximate weight, and the staff member coordinating release. We arrange pickup in Suffolk County and confirm availability. Please mention restricted access, after-hours staffing, or island travel at the start.
Chain of custody and pet identification.
Before the first handoff, discuss the identification method and transfer documentation with our team. Confirm the pet’s name, the authorized family contact, the selected care, and who can release the pet. Ask how the identity will remain associated with the pet, the returned remains, and the selected keepsakes.
Aquamation authorization should be explicit so the family’s choice is clear to everyone involved. Do not rely on a generic cremation selection when the family has requested aquamation.
Tracking and communication.
Agree on one practice contact and the best way to request updates. Ask which stages can be confirmed and who will notify the family. Contact our team for status information; discuss any hospital-specific documentation or tracking requirements before scheduling pickup.
Turnaround and return of remains.
Standard return is 5–7 business days. Diamond includes expedited 3-day service. Confirm the pickup date, return arrangement, and any travel constraints before relaying a promised date to a family.
Decide whether the return will be coordinated with the hospital or directly with the family, and identify who is authorized to receive the ashes. An urn is included with every package.
Packaging and personal belongings.
Ask our team about transport packaging and identification requirements before the handoff. Record any collar, carrier, blanket, or other belongings that the family expects back. Confirm keepsake requests before care begins, and keep the distinction between transport items and memorial items clear.
Staff training and family explanations.
Use our printable veterinary resources as a starting point for staff orientation. They include a short explanation for families and a list of details to confirm before pickup. Contact us to discuss questions your team would like covered before offering aquamation as an option.
Staff can say: “Aquamation is a water-based alternative to traditional flame cremation. Gentle Tide provides aquamation exclusively. We can ask them about pickup, prices, and the return of your pet’s ashes.”
