For a North Fork home or veterinary pickup, tell us the specific community rather than simply “Southold.” An address in Mattituck and one in Orient need different travel planning. If your pet is already at a hospital outside the town, use that hospital’s location as the starting point for the arrangements.
What is different about Fishers Island?
Fishers Island is part of Southold Town, but it is not reached by continuing along the North Fork road network. The Fishers Island Ferry District describes its ferry connection between Fishers Island and New London, Connecticut.
That connection changes the practical arrangements. Tell us whether your pet is on the island or already with a veterinarian elsewhere. We will discuss feasibility, transportation, timing, and the return plan individually. Do not assume that standard North Fork pickup arrangements apply to Fishers Island.
Aftercare from Mattituck to Orient
If you are calling from a mainland home, give us the street address, your pet’s approximate weight, and any instructions for finding the entrance. For a seasonal property, tell us who will be present and whether you expect to leave before the ashes are ready.
For a hospital pickup, we need the veterinary team’s release contact. Your home address and the pickup address may be in different communities; we can discuss both without asking you to move your pet simply to match a town boundary.
